Another Book Deal!
I just wanted to share that when I got up and checked my email this morning there was an email from my agent letting me know that Focus on the Family, who is distributed by Tyndale Publishers had decided to publish the pregnancy and childbirth book I have been wanting to write now for awhile. I am bummed that the proposal didn't go in with my original title, but the thought was it might have been just too racy or edgy for some: My chosen title was, "I Laughed, I Coughed, I Sneezed, I Peed" but instead it has been called something like,
"Expecting My Baby, Preparing for the Miracles of Your Child's Birth". So what do you think? It is just a little too tame for me....

Well, you know my opinion! Anyone who has had a baby, knows what title fits (smile!). But in writing we have to choose our battles carefully, and the book title and cover are things we usually don't get a whole lot of say in. But I'm clapping for you...standing up and cheering is more like it!

Congrats about your book deal! I too loved your original title and the one the publishers have suggested does seem a little tame. How about something along the lines of, "All the Things Your Mommy Friends Won't Tell You" or "The Best Kept Secrets of Pregnancy and Childbirth." Gotta give 'em some reason to pick YOUR book off the shelf, right?
I enjoyed your very thoughtful comments about faith and politics. I want to mull it over some before responding more.

Congratulations Kathy! I'm so glad you're going to write this much needed book! With the state of insurance company controlled OB health care in this country...women need all the preparation they can get.

I'm so happy for you! I love the title you created, especially since I can relate to the whole peeing thin...thank God for bladder surgery! It will be awesome no matter what they call it! Great job!
