Sometimes Divas get a bad rap. After all, what do you think of when you think "Diva"? An over indulged self-centered prima donna?

I used to too, until I met JeanAnn Duckworth, The Extreme Diva herself who encouraged me to think of a Diva as someone who has grabbed the passion of life and seeks to live life to the fullest.

But in seeking to live life to the fullest, we as women are encouraged to practice a bit of "practical selfishness" which allows us to live that life of purpose, passion and fulfillment.

So, what is "practical selfishness"? It is the belief that you cannot adequately take care of others until you have first taken care of yourself. How on earth can we as women juggle and manage our multiple roles and responsibilities unless we are also paying attention to and taking care of ourselves. If I needed permission to do this, then the Extreme Diva herself just gave it to me!

Everything The Extreme Diva does (visit www.theextremediva.com) is geared towards helping women to apply the philosophy of practical selfishness to their lives by focusing on the following four key areas:

  • Reducing stress;
  • Increasing joy;
  • Simplifying life;
  • Enhancing relationships.

What you will find when you visit www.theextremediva.com are ways to focus on the fourth aspect of The Extreme Diva mission, to enhance relationships. So browse the site and you will discover recipes, party ideas, advice to help you through those stressful times and ways to increase simple joy in your life.

One of the areas you will find on the Extreme Diva website is Extreme Diva Media, (EDM), which is dedicated to publishing a variety of books written to help women in one or more of the key areas.

Two of my books, Soccer Moms Devotions to Go, and Stressed out Moms Devotions to Go are published through EDM.
